Welcome!

You're one of the first guests to stay at a Safe-n-Sound certified property.

This home is part of an early release of our guest experience, and we'd love to hear about your stay.

Creating a safer travel experience for guests

Your safety is our top priority!

Unlike hotels, private rentals aren’t required to follow consistent safety standards, which has led to guest injuries and even deaths.  Where cities have established regulations, they are woefully unenforced.

For example, in Seattle the rental inspection ordinance is reliant on owners to opt-in (most don't), and units in the program are only inspected once every 10 years!

Three of the most common and dangerous problems in rentals are:

1) A lack working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers.

2) Beds placed in rooms without emergency exits.

3) Hosts reusing or sharing the same code on door locks for every guest and service provider.

Safe-n-Sound helps change that—so you can book with confidence.

We certify rental properties based on adherence to the International Residential Code (IRC), confirm the operation of essential safety systems, monitor access to the property, and place all of this information at your fingertips. â€‹

Ongoing Safety Confirmation

Not only has every safety device been verified, and proper bedroom egress confirmed, but the status of every device is continually checked, and in some cases monitored 24/7 by SnS, so you can book with confidence that all the necessary safety devices are in place and working.
